Hurstville Golf Club

Details and review of Hurstville Golf Club. Hurstville is a council owned course located in Sydney's south. The course is a Par 69 course with a length of 5159 metres. The course has well maintained greens which we found to be quite large but a bit slow. It is borderd by Oatley Park and has a heavily wooded divided which crosses the course making for for a picturesque golf course. This course is not the most challenging course in our opinion, however it represents one of the best value for money courses in Sydney.

Review of Hurstville Golf Club

Hurstville Golf Club is a council golf course located 20minutes drive south of Sydney. The course is quite long for a council owned golf course, however, two of the Par 4's are under 300 metres. This course makes great use of a large divide which runs through the centre of it. The divide makes for two spactacular Par 3's which have a large change in elevation. Also the divide is heavily wooded meaning not only those holes which are bordered by Oatley Park are picturesq. The greens are medium sized, some being quite large. The greens are well maintained, however we found them to be a bit on the slow side. The Front 9 tends to have the majority of its holes close together, meaning a miss hit drive will find itself on another fairway rather than in a hazard. The back, though more enjoyable has bare patches on its fairways, which is unofortunate. Another dissapointment is the fact that the course has 4 bunkers in total, 3 gaurding the 9th green, and 1 gaurding the 18th. There are no water hazards at this course, however the surrounding bush comes into play as a hazard on several holes. In our opinion this is most certainly one of the best maintained council golf courses in Sydney. We found Hurstville Golf Club to be great value for money given its proximity to the city and its well maintained greens.
