St Michael's Golf Club
Details and review of St. Michael's Golf Club. Located just south of Sydney and lying on
an ocean front, St. Michael's Golf Club is without doubt a spactacular, well maintained
golf course. It is however expensive and probably not as good value for money as other
courses we have played. We found the course to be challenging, with narrow fairways, slick
greens, and each holes being challenging and different from the last.

Review of St Michael's Golf Club
Just south of Sydney St. Michael's Golf Club claims to be the "Jewel of the Pacific Coast" and rightly
so being ranked 54th in the top 100 Australian courses. The course is magnificient, the layout is challenging, and the greens are large and fast. The fairways
are narrow and are bounded by trees and shrubs rather than rough making accurate driving a must. It must
be noted that the course has a couple of holes on the back and front 9 where the fairways are unlined
by any vegetation, these holes tend to be the ones closest to the oceans edge. As a result though these
holes have a magnificent view tend to be less spactacular. We also found a few of the holes could have been
a bit more well bunkered, however those holes that are bunkered have the bunkers gaurding the green extremely well.
There is no doubt in our mind that this
course is better than The Coast (one of its closer rivals), however it is really up to the individual whether
the increase in green fees is worth it. In our opinion it depends what you're looking for. If you want challenging
ocean gaurded holes then you'll probably want to play the Coast, but if you want a gorgeous golf course with ocean
views (not neccessarily the ocean coming into play as a hazard) then you'll choose St. Michael's.
Other things to note at St. Michael's Golf Club was we found the course to be in great condition, well
sign posted, and the staff we were all very friendly. We enjoyed playing this course as it offers a lot
of variety, was very challenging, and was very well maintained. We rate it as
one of the better courses in the Sydney region.
